We untangled One More Child's fragmented reporting systems (134 logic apps, scattered business logic, and hour-long daily report runs) and created a more reliable and performant system that their program directors can trust – so they can spend time where it belongs: serving children and families.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
One More Child provides Christ-centered child welfare and prevention services in more than 50 locations locally and globally to meet the critical needs of families in crises. They serve hungry children, foster children, trafficked children, single moms and struggling families.
The existing infrastructure was a patchwork built over time — each report carrying its own tables and logic, business logic scattered everywhere:
134 logic apps running daily reports
Logic spread across Zoho, Logic Apps, stored procedures & Power BI
Reports took nearly an hour to run each day
Regenerating past data was complex and error-prone
Program directors struggled to access the insights they needed
The result: every hour spent on operations was an hour not spent serving children.

For a mission-driven organization, this inefficiency far exceeded a technical problem. The friction was a chasm — depriving colleagues of the critical resources they needed to drive impact for families. One More Child couldn't wait to disentangle their systems. They needed change.
We stabilized a rocky foundation and then began addressing real needs.

We built a QA environment that hadn't existed before, so every future change could be tested without risking the production systems One More Child depends on daily.

The treatment goals report went from a 28-minute daily process to running in under 10 seconds — freeing both computational resources and staff time.

We fixed the recurring Zoho API authentication issues that generated support tickets, so efforts could be focused on delivering new value instead of addressing the same issue repeatedly.
Rather than rushing in with a predetermined fix, we took time to understand what the data meant to the people who use it. We learned how each department works and how insights shape decisions that affect children's lives.

Sustainable improvement needs proper foundations. A new QA environment meant changes could be tested safely — protecting the systems the organization relies on every single day.

After understanding the full scope of the technical debt, we recommended a complete platform rebuild — and we're now helping architect it: a modern foundation that reduces ongoing support costs and grows with the mission.

Leadership has reliable, timely information for strategic decisions. And One More Child maintained continuity of operations through a potentially disruptive transition — their mission never faltered, because their systems stayed stable through foundational change.

faster critical report generation
daily processing reduced
recurring system failures remaining
After understanding the full scope of the technical debt, we proposed a complete rebuild — and we're now helping design and build that new platform that will carry One More Child's mission forward.
After helping One More Child through their CTO transition, our role shifted — we're now helping their Executive Director of Management Information Systems architect and build a new data platform to lay the foundation for their future growth.
We're building a modern solution on Microsoft Fabric using Spark Notebooks, Pipelines, and a Lakehouse for scalability and performance — paired with a medallion data model that makes it easy and consistent to build future reports on top of.
By bringing our expertise and experience, we're guiding One More Child to the right technologies and solutions to help them scale their mission impact.
