QA Engineer

As a QA Engineer at Kalon, you will serve a critical role in helping us deliver high quality products and ensuring the successful release of new products and features. You will work with our project managers to create test plans and coordinate with our developers to log bugs and validate fixes. Your role helps set Kalon apart and is integral to maintaining strong relationships with our customers. AI helps us ship more code than ever, and you'll use those same tools to keep quality one step ahead.

Responsibilities

  • Create test plans that identify functional requirements and affected user types
  • Attend project launch meetings and give testing consideration input to design and development process
  • Manual testing in QA environment
  • Logging of bugs in our project management system with clear steps to reproduce and detailed information about the issue and what users are affected
  • Verify all deliverables are complete
  • Coordinate with PM on test and release cycle to ensure projects complete in timely manner
  • Make sure the functionality and user experience align with project goals
  • Use AI and automated testing tools to expand test coverage and help us build out our automated testing

Experience

You’ll need to be able to work well in our technical environment. Here are things we’re looking for (note: you may not have all of these, that’s okay).  

  • You have worked in a technology based business before, whether at an agency, product company, or software development shop.
  • You know how the web works and how a web app works.
  • You’re able to put yourself in the shoes of an end-user and advocate on their behalf.
  • Ability to write test plans, test cases, and test scripts

Nice to Haves:

  • Previous experience in software testing or quality assurance
  • Knowledge of different testing methodologies (such as black-box testing, white-box testing, and automated testing)
  • Familiarity with programming languages (such as C#, Javascript, or Python)
  • Experience with testing tools such as Playwright
  • Experience using AI tools to generate test cases, test data, automate tests, or dig into logs and code
  • Experience with performance testing, load testing, and security testing
  • Experience with regression and functional testing

  • You can juggle multiple projects at a time.
  • You are comfortable with online tools like Google Sheets and desktop and mobile applications for screen recording.

  • You demonstrate integrity (you do what you say you’re going to do).
